DANCE/DRAMA COMBO 1HR AND 30MINS x 4 WEEKS
DANCE
This term as well as current songs we will be working towards our Christmas number too, yeah!
This Dance class is high energy and fun. If your child is type of child that when they hear music, can't stop moving to the beat, then this is for them.
Each week we will learn a routine. There is also plenty of opportunity to create some of our moves too. Some weeks will we do our freestyle circle, or do group work to create our dances routines.
Each child is different, I will only ever gently encourage a child to create their owns moves. This class is not only about learning to dance, but it's also about learning to be more confident in moving our bodies, keeping active and making new friends.
The music we dance to is current chart music, that your child will recognise. Just watch them tear up the dance floor at your next wedding or disco party invitation
Our Dance styles are mainly hip hop and street dance.
At the end of term we perform some of our dances to family and friends
DRAMA
This class is fantastic for a child with a huge imagination. I used to love creating imaginary adventures with my cousins about time machines travellling to different places in history, or becoming powerful witches creating magical spells. I think this imaginative play is slowing dissapearing but with drama it doesn't need to.
Drama is also a really great tool for encouraging confidence. I was always a shy child but it wasn't till I found dance and drama that my confidence grew. For this reason I am very aware of a childs confidence levels and feel I can make good judgment on when to encourage and when let them find their time when their ready.
Fun scenarios could include, Going to space, restaurants, robot invasion, Mario land, Hairdressers and the school trip

There will be dress up weeks and prop weeks, which I will let you know of when signing at the start of each term. I don't ever want you to feel you have to go an expense buying. Homemade is fine, or just an accessory and borrowing costumes.
